Lakedance.com was built to service our International Film Festival’s needs, and it underwent many design and structural changes along the way. Each event (annual) carried a completely new structure and design, which is what made a CMS like Drupal become a necessity. I made the decision to go with a database backend PHP frontend as it would save a ton of time during site redesigns in the off-season and to add all of the features we would need over the year such as ticket sales, program information, and sponsor logo and advertising inclusion.

This was the official program of the 2009 Lakedance International Film Festival. I did all of the design, layout, and handled all printing pre-flights, etc. Many of the ads for the sponsors were designed by me as well. You can download the full program below.

The early 2009 Lakedance logo, now with laser image, inc. as our title sponsor (I also designed their logo). It still features our blue and orange color scheme which was a carryover from the previous year with Schweitzer as our title sponsor. This would change a couple of months before the event to a more elegant black/white/gold/grey color scheme, as you see in the second logo

This ran a few weeks before the 2007 film festival as the double truck center of the Inlander, the Inland Northwest's version of a LA or Seattle Weekly.

This was a lot of fun to design. The first time we would use the blue and orange scheme, it tied in the mountain and lake well too. Also, the first time we had tiered sponsorship available.

This was our first Title Sponsor, Schweitzer Mountain Resort, and the first time we had used the name Lakedance, hence, a new sponsor integrated logo! Their logo was "The Mountain on The Lake", so it was a natural fit.

This was just fun to design, but ultimately it was too busy for the long run. We were intending on updating when we acquired a title sponsor, but we also changed the name of the film festival to Lakedance, so this was the one and only logo for IPIFF.

All years, especially 2006, our advertisements were meant to prominently display our sponsors logos. The first advertisement ran in Sandpoint Magazine and North Idaho Lifestyles. The second advertisement was run in a number of publications as a reminder and attention getter.
